Autobahn Event

In July 2016, the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois hosted several exciting motorsports events, showcasing the venue’s world-class facilities and drawing racing enthusiasts from across the Midwest.

## NASA Midwest Event

On July 22-23, 2016, the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Midwest region held a two-day racing event at Autobahn Country Club[13]. This event featured multiple racing classes and time trial competitions, allowing drivers of various skill levels to test their abilities on Autobahn’s challenging track. Spectators were welcomed to watch the action, though a $5 entry fee was reportedly implemented by the venue to cover security and staffing costs[13].

## MVP Track Time “First Monday in June”

Earlier in the summer, on June 6, 2016, MVP Track Time hosted their “First Monday in June” track day event at Autobahn Country Club[16]. This single-day event gave participants the opportunity to drive on Autobahn’s full 3.56-mile track configuration, combining both the North and South courses. The entry fee for this event was $255, offering drivers excellent value for experiencing the complete Autobahn circuit[16].

## Kart Circuit Autobahn

While not specifically tied to 2016, it’s worth noting that Autobahn Country Club expanded its offerings in 2019 with the opening of Kart Circuit Autobahn (KCA)[6]. This state-of-the-art karting facility features a 0.52-mile professional-grade track, allowing drivers to reach speeds of up to 55 mph in high-performance CRG Centurion karts[1]. Though not available in 2016, this addition has since become a popular attraction for both motorsports enthusiasts and casual visitors to the Autobahn complex.

## Autobahn Country Club Facilities

The Autobahn Country Club, founded in 2004 by Mark Basso and Tim O’Donnell, offers a unique motorsports experience just 45 minutes from downtown Chicago[3][10]. The facility features two main tracks that can be combined to form a 3.56-mile circuit, one of the longest in the United States[3]. In addition to hosting various racing events, Autobahn Country Club provides members with amenities such as a clubhouse, garages, and even residential options for true motorsports enthusiasts[3].

Throughout 2016 and beyond, Autobahn Country Club has continued to establish itself as a premier destination for racing events, driver education, and automotive enthusiasm in the Midwest. Its diverse calendar of events caters to a wide range of interests within the motorsports community, from professional races to amateur track days and corporate events[7].
